Week 21: A song that you appreciate more and more as time goes on.

I suppose that would be John Lennon's Imagine.  I don't think I really liked it as a kid.  Being brought up a good Catholic girl, I misunderstood his point when he said "Image there's no Heaven...no religion too." As I got older I began to really appreciate the words and meaning that Lennon was trying to convey.  I pretty much agree with what he's saying.  I don't consider myself a Christian anymore but rather have Hindu beliefs.

Now it gets me every time I hear it...
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

"The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate. That is, when the individual remains undivided and does not become conscious of his inner opposite, the world must perforce act out the conflict and be torn into opposing halves." C. G. Jung
